IELTS Writing criteria are not a list to memorize; they are a diagnostic map.

The four criteria affect the same essay together. In score-gap repair, the useful step is not memorizing labels; it is finding which criterion limits the next revision.

This page explains diagnostic evidence; official scoring results come from the test.

TR/TA checks task completion

First check whether the response answers the prompt, or whether Task 1 captures the main features.

CC checks idea relationships

Cohesion is not just linking words; it is whether sentences and paragraphs move each other forward.

Read the four criteria together

An unstable position may weaken Task Response and make coherence look messy. Inaccurate vocabulary may hurt Lexical Resource and also blur the point.

Turn criteria into revision targets

One repair cycle should focus on one main issue. Identify the criterion first, then choose a short repair step or revision target that can prove change.

Task Response
IELTS Task Response 的核心是完整回应命令词、保持清楚一致的立场，并把观点展开到可以评估，观点数量是其次。先拆出题目要求与对象，再检查 thesis、段落主旨、理由、例子和结果是否共同回答问题。引用原文定位遗漏或薄弱链条，把最主要的一处改成下一版可验证的段落重写目标，并记录前后证据。
Coherence
IELTS Coherence and Cohesion 的范围比 linking words 大得多。更重要的是观点顺序、段落职责、句子推进和指代是否清楚。
Lexical Resource
IELTS Lexical Resource 看的是用词准确，难词多少是其次。更重要的是词义准确、搭配自然、话题贴合，同义替换也要守住题目原意。
Grammar accuracy
IELTS Grammatical Range and Accuracy 同时考察句型范围与准确控制，句子写得稳比写得长更重要。结合完整段落检查句子边界、时态、主谓一致、从句和标点，优先找反复出现且影响理解的问题。先把失控长句拆开，再重组成清楚的复合句；比较修改前后是否更准确自然，并把仍会复发的一类错误设为下一篇重写目标。
Writing feedback service
IELTS writing feedback service 页面强调证据、主卡分点和重写目标，避免只给笼统建议。准备原题、作文、目标分数和你最想确认的问题。
General feedback
IELTS writing feedback too general 时，问题在于建议缺少对应的原文证据和下一次可验证的重写步骤。它应该指出哪一句、哪段或哪一步展开正在限制文章。
Grammar accuracy
IELTS Writing 的语法评分看 range 和 accuracy。复杂句如果错误频繁，会比稳定的简单句更影响读者理解。长句里反复出现主谓、从句或标点问题。
