What actually changes in CBT Writing
For learners around Band 6.0-7.0, the risk is usually not harder questions; it is a mismatch between practice and the test interface. A handwritten draft does not prove you can finish a timed keyboard draft, and reading a chart on paper does not prove you can quickly find the main features on screen.
- Input moves to the keyboard: spelling, capitalisation, punctuation, and editing speed all affect completion.
- Task 1 becomes screen-based chart reading: practise finding main trends on screen before writing the overview and comparisons.
- Live word count constantly shows length, but it does not fix thin development or task drift for you.
- Copy, paste, and deletion are easier, but they can also scramble paragraph logic; keep structure visible while practising.
