If a paragraph does not connect an actor, policy or behaviour, and consequence, the environmental argument remains a slogan.
Decide whether the prompt asks about individual action, corporate responsibility, government policy, or international cooperation, then give each actor an executable responsibility.
Choose one responsible actor and rewrite a paragraph as actor-action-mechanism-impact before adding environmental vocabulary.
Individuals can change purchasing, travel, and energy use. Companies can change product design, supply chains, and production emissions. Governments can reshape choices through pricing, standards, and public investment. Cross-border pollution may require international coordination. Do not assign every actor the same duty to “raise awareness”; give each one a lever only that actor can operate.
“Governments should protect the environment” names no action. Narrow it to a step such as raising the cost of high-emission vehicles entering a city centre, then explain why commuters would switch to public transport and how fuel use and local air pollution would fall. Check your paragraph after deleting “climate change” or “environment”: can a reader still see who acts, whose behaviour changes, and what result follows? If not, the mechanism needs work.
