Why timing affects criteria
Time pressure affects task response, development, organisation, and language accuracy. It looks like strategy, but it lands inside the criteria.
Exam process
Poor timing turns good ideas into thin writing.
The Writing test gives 60 minutes for two tasks. Over-analysing Task 1 or skipping planning and checking time for Task 2 can break the response late.
Short answer: time management trains task allocation and writing speed.
Task 1 takes too long
The learner keeps analysing details and compresses Task 2 development time.
Task 2 skips the plan
Writing starts quickly, but the direction changes halfway.
The checking window disappears

Use stage timing and total time
A steadier rewrite path divides the response into prompt reading, planning, writing, and checking, each with a ceiling.

What to revise next
If timing is the issue, do timed sub-tasks first: three minutes for Task 1 main features, five minutes for Task 2 stance and paragraph plan.
