Check whether the task demand is covered
If the prompt asks for two sides, a position, or reasons, the essay must complete those moves. Missing one move affects Task Response even when language is good.
Task Response gap
The Task Response gap between 6 and 7 often sits in whether the essay truly answers.
Many Task 2 essays have opinions, paragraphs, and examples, but answer only part of the prompt or leave the body paragraphs underdeveloped. The essay looks competent but remains insufficient.
Check answer coverage before expression quality.
Common Band 6 risk
The ideas are relevant, but coverage is incomplete; paragraphs have topic sentences, but explanation is thin.
Band 7 needs more stability
The answer direction is clearer and main ideas are developed consistently.
Then check whether ideas develop
Around Band 6, a paragraph often stops at I think this because it is better. A stronger response explains why, how, and result.

Band 6 to 7

Task 2 position
IELTS Task 2 清晰立场从开头的同意或反对开始，再让 thesis、topic sentence、主体段理由和 conclusion 持续回答同一问题。通过 agree/disagree、discussion 与双问题题型识别立场漂移、范围过大或让步失控的原文证据，再把问题收窄成一次可检查的开头或段落重写。

Task 2 的例子要和 claim、reason、consequence 连在一起，才能支撑论证。例子出现了，还要说明它怎样支持前一句推理。
